HK ITU Triathlon 2009
Nobody would deny this is the best HK ITU Triathlon in the history of HK Triathlon in terms of organization and atmosphere. It ran really smooth from body-marking, setting up the transition, swim, bike, run, finish, massage tent and ITU village! The race course setting is just in the right balance in challenging ocean swim for the beginner and flat bike course and shaded run course for the well-trained triathletes who'd like to clock the best time. The Carnival alike ITU village really a place to hang around and catch up with friends or those you just pass before the finish line, I especially like the smoothies by Herbal Life and especially the cool soft drink by Sonic!!
Let's say thank you to the organizing committees of HKTriA who devoted their time and effort, learn from the past year experience, collecting feedback and work closely with HKTriA staff and ActionHouse to deliver this HK Triathlon to everyone, we hope they can keep up their good work.

Going back to Sonic, everybody was definitely well done as we all can see, and all of us get better and improved finishing time compare with last year due to the better course layout, shorter transition, better performance and no failed lap court. A lot of personal best and podium finishers among the team, (not going to list out this time to make this newsletter too long, sorry), our Team Sonic + CMS relay team also dominated 2nd - 4th position in Relay Category (champion was taken by commerical sponsor team). Good work!

I also need to highlight a little bit on the team work that we have while Triathlon is the sports of highly individualism.

Team Sonic booth: Firstly of all, it's "For Team Sonic By Team Sonic". We got this booth from the organization in free of charge because we have more than 80 members take part in this race, more than ETS, Titan, Dragon! Make us proud!!

1 November: Splash n Dash Aquathon 3
The last and the most challenging Aquathon of Splash n Dash series should be the one happened at Repulse Bay in the first Sunday of November, perfect weather and temperature for 500m swim, 5k run and do it again!

Gathering Point: Cheung Tung Road 'tunnel', (Sunny Bay end 橋底)
Start Time: 0800

Format: Individual Time Trial (NO drafting)
Adult: 40k (2 x loops on Cheung Tung Road)
Junior: 20k (1 x loop on Cheung Tung Road)

Sonic End Of Season party on 29 Nov
Another important event you need to mark on your calendar is our annual biggest Sonic End Of Season party!! Let's do something differently!
This year our end of season party will be back to our training base SHEK O!!
This will be the afternoon BBQ for all members catch up with everyone!

When?? 1230 - 1600 Sunday 29 November
Where?? Shek O 林明園 BBQ Cafe (corner of main car park, where our Sir John Fung got seriously drunk in 2008...)
What?? lot of foods, lot of drink, BYOWine, short presentation for Sonic Outlook 2010, Awardsss for Sonic men and ladies, Lucky Draw....

Triathlon TV program on TVB
The recent TV interview program with a few local triathletes had became the talk of the town among the triathlon community. This 30mins documentary features on how the local triathletes get into this sports and what is the sports of triathlon for them.
This is a brilliant TV documentary for general public to know more about our sports and also for the triathlete ourselves to look at our sports maybe from difference angle.
Some of our familiar faces such as Oil, Eric, Fanny also appear on TV!

Sonic forum: Ironman Corner
You may notice a new discussion board was setup on the forum called "Ironman Corner".
This is an inclusive forum for all Ironman or Ironman 70.3 no matter you're Sonic Ironman finisher or Ironman wanna-be, for sharing your pre-race preparation, race suggestions, reports, good and bad, do and don't.
I also merged all post from Singapore 70.3 and Ironman China forum into this "Ironman Corner" as we are expecting more Ironman races will happen in Asia region and Sonic will be interested in. Check this out at index.php
